Executive search.

Are you looking for your next C-level, VP, managing director, or general manager? The executive search model may be a good fit for you. For a retainer paid upfront, our team will work tirelessly until the right candidate has been found - no matter how long it takes.

  • Once the first installment has been made, we’ll designate a partner who specializes in your vertical/industry to arrange meetings with key stakeholders in your company. They’ll note factors such as management style, office culture, etc. that will be critical for matching new hires.

    Next, we’ll create drafts of the position brief and ideal candidate profiles for your approval.

    Our team of researchers and sourcers will be brought in to identify target companies and map internal org structures, making it easier to reach target candidates.

    Gradually, our longlist of candidates will be whittled down to a shortlist of about 3-5 top prospects. When possible, we always pre-reference candidates to learn about their past performance through word of mouth - saving time and hassle.

    Finally, we’ll conduct a series of rigorous interviews which can include an initial phone screen, video call, and in-person meeting. If requested, we may also send them standardized assessments.

    At this point, we will pass our findings along to your internal team - where they can conduct their own rounds of interviews. Should a candidate be selected, we will complete all reference checks and negotiate an offer to completion.

    Once the candidate has successfully settled in, we will collect the remainder of our fee and close the search.

  • The industry standard fee for an executive search ranges from 30-35% of the placed candidate’s first year base salary + fixed compensation, such as sign-on and guaranteed bonuses.

    This is payable in 3 equal installments - the first before the search begins, the second after 60 days, and the third upon the successful hire of a candidate.

  • You are a client who is looking for:

    • An exclusive, streamlined experience. Passing sensitive information and juggling multiple agencies at once can be exhausting.

    • High levels of professionalism and dedication. While retained, we’ll be completely focused on your search without any distractions from other clients. The upfront payment ensures that the team handling the search is plenty motivated.

    • More resources at your disposal. Unlike contingent search, executive search allows us the budget to bring in researchers and sourcers for additional firepower.

    • Completion at all costs. The search doesn’t stop until we find you your ideal candidate - even if we have to go through tens of them.

Contingent search.

Perfect for mid-to-senior level hires that you can’t justify paying a retainer for. Remember, all contingent searches are free of risk and prepayment unless you decide to hire one of our candidates. What’s there to lose?

  • Every request for contingent search is carefully evaluated to ensure that A) the requirements are reasonable and B) it matches our capabilities in term of practice area expertise and geographical coverage.

    Once approved, we’ll assign a partner who specializes in your vertical/industry to learn more about your company and negotiate the terms and conditions of our service contract.

    The search officially begins once the contract has been signed. Our partner will employ a variety of methods to source for candidates - such as LinkedIn, job boards, and networking associations. If there are any discrepancies in your expectations vs. what we find in the market, we will be sure to advise you.

    The top 3-5 candidates will be shortlisted and proceed to the interview segment, which consists of a phone screen, video call, and/or in-person meeting.

    At this point, we will pass our findings along to your internal team - where they can conduct their own rounds of interviews. Should a candidate be selected, we will complete all reference checks and negotiate an offer to completion.

    It is only once the candidate has successfully settled in, that we will collect our fee and close the search.

  • The industry standard fee for a contingent search ranges from 20-25% of the placed candidate’s first year base salary + fixed compensation, such as sign-on and guaranteed bonuses.

    Remember, the fee for contingent search is only paid upon successful placement (rather than paid upfront). If we fail to find a desirable candidate, no payment is necessary for our efforts.

  • You are a client who:

    • Is hiring for mid-to-senior level positions. Such roles do not warrant heavy spending, compared to executive search.

    • Is operating on a tighter budget. Contingent search fees are usually several percentage points below that of executive search.

    • Prefers only to pay for successful outcomes. With executive search, there is still a risk of not finding the right candidate even though upfront payment has already been made.

    • Wants to engage with multiple contingent firms at once to maximize your chances. However, be aware that candidates can experience confusion if solicited by more than one firm and provided different levels of information and service. Who you choose to represent your brand is very important.

    • Doesn’t mind competing with other clients for attention and resources. Since consultants are only paid for contingent searches that are successful, they will often invest more effort in searches that have the highest chance of success.
